
The interdisciplinary minor in Broad Field Social Science is open only to students from the College of Education who have a second major in history, political science (only Concentration I: Politics, according to the directions given in the Political Science section of this bulletin), psychology or sociology. This minor allows students to prepare for the license extension offered by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for Broad Field Social Science.
The interdisciplinary minor in Broad Field Social Science consists of seven courses (21 credit hours). Students must choose seven courses from among the six groups of courses listed below. Courses for the minor must come from five of the six groups. None of the seven courses taken for the minor can be in a group that corresponds to the student’s major. (For example, if the student is majoring in anthropology, the student should not take any courses in the anthropology area listed below.)
